I found God on a white piece of paper.
It would not have occurred to me to leave it blank.

Poets & Writers
As a budding travel writer, when I first submitted to Matador, I got a confidence-boosting email from David and the Matador Team. “Just wanted to check in with you and offer some encouragement if you were finding yourself struggling in any way with your draft,” he said. This kind of organic mentoring through the editorial process is what makes Matador the most unique, passionate travel community on earth.
…having an educational component of Matador has always been one of our most important dreams. Half the staff, including myself, have backgrounds in education. Both Ben Polansky and Tim Patterson are currently teaching in addition to their work at Matador. And I think this “educator’s mindset” – always needing to share, include, and build community–has been a key factor from the very beginning of Matador’s development.
I was able to browse the course materials myself, and I have to say that the course is rich and informative, and in many ways it literally gives away the blueprint used to navigate the continuously evolving world of travel publishing.
